The Technion - Israel Institute of Technology is Israel's foremost science & technology university and one of the top academic research facilities in the world. The Rappaport Faculty of Medicine at the Technion is home to many of the world's leading medical & biotechnology researchers - including winners of the 2004 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. The Technion has been training American & Canadian medical students for over 20 years, but the Class of 2010 is the inaugural class of the newly formed Technion American Medical Students (TEAMS) Program that will complete all four years of study at the Technion campus in Haifa.
In addition to pre-clinical studies at the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, and clinical rotations at Haifa's Rambam Health Care Campus, students are also welcome to complete hospital rotations at affiliated teaching hospitals in the United States. In previous years many students doing away rotations have chosen to go to Johns Hopkins Medical Center or Brown University School of Medicine for their "away rotations", but students are also welcome to pursue elective medical rotations at any other accredited U.S. teaching hospital.
Technion American medical school graduates are very well prepared for U.S. residency placement and have a 100% acceptance rate into U.S. residency programs, graduates regularly place into the most competitive residency programs and specialty areas. The Technion is one of the few medical schools world-wide whose graduates have a 100% pass rate on the United States Medical Licensure Examination (USMLE).
